• A.I.R. Vallauris Korean Collection / from August 20 to September 2, 2016

For the 130th anniversary of the treaty establishing their first diplomatic ties, France and Korea wish to commemorate this important event by proclaiming 2015-2016 as the France-Korea year.

To coincide with this celebration A.I.R. Vallauris will present the Korean Collection exhibit From August 20th to September 2nd 2016.

For over 15 years, A.I.R. Vallauris has welcomed international artists in residence and offered them the opportunity to realize an artistic project in an environment that inspires creativity.  During this time an important collection of works contributed by resident artists has been compiled. This exhibition assembles the works of 14 alumni resident artists from Korea as well as the works created during an International Study abroad program by 21 students from Ewha Womans University in Seoul led by Professor Eun-kyung Choi.

This exhibition was originally scheduled to open in October 2015, but was cancelled due to exceptionally adverse climatic conditions. This exhibit is now restaged  by A.I.R. Vallauris at two spaces within the Place Lisnard and organized within the offficial programming of the  “OFF” of the Vallauris XXIVth International Biennale of Ceramics.

• • • For its fourth residency phase, A.I.R. Vallauris invites you to see the works created in residence of Heather Morrow (Canada), Bill Powell (Australia), Aimee McLaughlin (USA) and Hyunah Kim (Korea) in their group exhibit running from August 13 to 17.

Opening with the presence of the artists : Saturday 13 August, from 11AM to 13PM.

• Exhibition of works from A.I.R. Vallauris Collection
  The exhibition “Reliefs blancs” presents a selection of contemporary ceramic works from numerous private and public collections as well as collections from ceramic associations of Vallauris. The exhibition focuses on a selection of works which are purely white in form and colour.
  A.I.R. Vallauris is pleased to participate in this exhibition with the contribution of two works from the A.I.R Vallauris collection:

• A.I.R Vallauris – RETROSPECTIVE 2013
  Exhibition of works created in residency by artists in 2013. A.I.R. Vallauris welcomed 21 artists from 8 different countries across the six residency phases. All works on display have been created in residency in Vallauris and the artists have used a variety of techniques and materials to create their works.

• South African artists in residence
  As part of the programming for the “Season France/Afrique du Sud”, these four South African artists were invited in residence at A.I.R. Vallauris. This event featured a display of South African Culture. For this occasion, the façade of our exhibition space, le Cabanon, had been transformed by the Graphic Artist Buntu FIHLA. Inside this “South African Pavilion”, Ceramic works created in residence were displayed by : Majolandile DYALVANE, Madoda FANI, Nic SITHOLE
